Data analytics hiring levels in clinical trial operations rose in October

The proportion of pharmaceutical companies hiring for cloud related positions rose to a year-high in August 2021, with 42.7% of the companies included in our analysis recruiting for at least one such position.

The proportion of clinical trial operations companies hiring for data analytics related positions rose in October 2021 compared with the equivalent month last year, with 70.2% of the companies included in our analysis recruiting for at least one such position.

This latest figure was higher than the 68.2% of companies who were hiring for data analytics related jobs a year ago, but a decrease compared to the figure of 74.9% in September 2021

When it came to the rate of all job openings that were linked to data analytics, related job postings rose in October 2021, with 9.5% of newly posted job advertisements being linked to the topic.

This latest figure was an increase compared to the 8.5% of newly advertised jobs that were linked to data analytics in the equivalent month a year ago.

Data analytics is one of the topics that GlobalData, from whom our data for this article is taken, have identified as being a key disruptive force facing companies in the coming years. Our analysis of the data shows that clinical trial operations companies are currently hiring for data analytics jobs at a rate higher than the average for all companies within GlobalData's job analytics database. The average among all companies stood at 5.9% in October 2021.
