Salts of Amino Acids

Amino Acids are a crucial group of cell culture media ingredients. Tyrosine and Aspartic Acid are commonly used in cell culture media. But these Amino Acids are not soluble and this is a challenge in Upstream Fermentation, which affect drug substance yield and quality.

Dr. Paul Lohmann® has developed highly soluble DPL-BioPharm Amino Acid Salts of these Amino Acids with a significant high dissolution rate.

  • L-Tyrosine Disodium Salts
  • L-Aspartic Acid Sodium Salt

Free-flowing Salts

Dr. Paul Lohmann® offers also DPL-BioPharm Salts for Downstream and Fill/Finish such as different Acetates, Phosphates and Sulfates. Due to the high volume usage of these process aids and buffers, the products need to be free-flowing.

Ammonium Sulfate, Sodium Sulfate 10-hydrate and Potassium Acetate are frequently used in Biopharma and diagnostics applications and are known to tend to lump due to high hygroscopicity.

Dr. Paul Lohmann® has developed free-flowing DPL-BioPharm grades of Ammonium Sulfate, Sodium Sulfate 10-hydrate and Potassium Acetate in order to ease the manufacturing process of the biopharmaceutical manufacturer. This approach enables the customers to save process costs.

  • Ammonium Sulfate
  • Sodium Sulfate 10-hydrate
  • Potassium Acetate

Low in Endotoxins

Endotoxins can cause undesirable effects on cell proliferation or cell function. Low in Endotoxin qualities enable the development of high sensitive cell lines in an optimal and controlled environment. Since the drug products are parenterally applied, there is a need for excipients with low pyrogen content.

Sodium Succinate 6-hydrate is used as buffer in cell culture media and as excipient. Dr. Paul Lohmann® has invested into a state-of-the-art dedicated GMP plant for Low in Endotoxin Salts. With our unique quality by design approach we have developed Sodium Succinate 6-hydrate Low in Endotoxins. The customers’ advantage is seamless integration and reduced risk and cost in production.

Beside Sodium Succinate, Dr. Paul Lohmann® offers a wide range of Low in Endotoxin Salts, such as Acetates, Citrates and Phosphates.
