IN THIS ISSUE

Welcome to this special yearbook issue of Pharma Technology Focus. It’s been an unusual and challenging year for the pharma industry, but amid the hullabaloo that came with the arrival of Covid-19 the pharma industry banded together in pursuit of a common goal, which in turn has us leaving 2020 with two approved Covid-19 vaccines and a host of treatments in the pipeline that give us hope that the next 12 months may be a little brighter than the last.

In this end-of-year edition, we have rounded up some of the biggest stories from the past year, including repurposing existing drugs to treat Covid-19, how intellectual property laws changed in the wake of a pandemic, and what happens to the individuals that blow the whistle on an emerging health crises.

Plus, we debunk ongoing myths about puberty blockers, ask if pharma’s eco wishlist goes far enough to improve sustainability, and investigate reliance on horseshoe crabs in clinical safety testing.

See you next year.
